cells cannot remain alive outside certain limits of temperature and much narrower limits mark the boundaries of effective functioning. enzyme systems of mammals and birds are most efficient only within a narrow range around 37c;a departure of a few degrees from this value seriously impairs their functioning. even though cells can survive wider fluctuations the integrated actions of bodily systems are impaired. other animals have a wider tolerance for changes of bodily temperature.
for centuries it has been recognized that mammals and birds differ from other animals in the way they regulate body temperature. ways of characterizing the difference have become more accurate and meaningful over time, but popular terminology still reflects the old division into "warm-blooded" and "cold-blooded" species; warm-blooded included mammals and birds whereas all other creatures were considered cold-blooded. as more species were studied, it became evident that this classification was inadequate. a fence lizard or a desert iguana-each cold-blooded----usually has a body temperature only a degree or two below that of humans and so is not cold. therefore the net distinction was made between animals that maintain a constant body temperature, called home0therms, and those whose body temperature varies with their environments, called poikilotherms. but this classification also proved inadequate, because among mammals there are many that vary their body temperatures during hibernation. furthermore, many invertebrates that live in the depths of the ocean never eperience change in the depths of the ocean never eperience change in the chill of the deep water, and their body temperatures remain constant.
Who would disagree with the statement “progress is good”? Without progress , there would be no change. Without progress, there would be no change in our economy, our standard of living, or our health.
Progress is required to keep the economy moving forward. New products need to be developed; new services need to be created. Without progress, our economy would stand still. There would be no change. Without progress, there would be no supermarkets with fress produce brought in from all over the world.
Progress is required to improve our standard of living. Our homes today are more efficient and use less natural resources thanks to improvement in home construction techniques. Our clothes are warmer and safer thanks to developments in textile manufacturing. Our educational system is better thanks to the use of the computers and the Internet.
Progress is required to improve the health of the world population. Without progress, there would be no vaccines against deadly diseases like smallpox. Without progress, there would be increased infant mortality. Thanks to progress, our lives are longer and healthier.
Progress is a natural state. Without it, we would not evolve. Without it, our economy, our standard of living, and our health would deteriorate. Who could deny the necessity of progress.
A principals job is not as easy one. I only hope that in the future, I can model my own leadership abilities on the ones I observed in school. I hope I can be as firm, fair, and foresighted as my principal.

Advantages of owning a private car. 2)Disadvantages of owning a private car. 3)Should it be necessary to enlarge the private car market? Why or why not? Nowadays, any Chinese can enjoy the luxury of owning a private car - if he or she can afford it. Having a car of your own means no more traveling to work on crowded buses or subway trains, and you can drop off the children at school on the way. Moreover, it also means that you can enjoy the weekends and holidays better, because with a car you can go to places where theregular buses and trains do not go, and so you can find a quiet scenic spot with no crowds. However, there are drawbacks to owning a car. For one thing, with the increase in car ownership in recent years, the roads are becoming more and more crowded, often making the journey to work more of a nightmare than a dream. For another, it is not cheap to run a car, as the prices of gasoline and repairs are constantly rising, not to mention the prices you have to pay for a licence and insurance coverage. Having considered both sides of the argument, I have come to the conclusion that the advantages of owning a car outweigh the disadvantages. Therefore, it seems to me that China should increase its output of automobiles and enlarge the private car market. The result would be that cars would become cheaper, while at the same time the extra demand would encourage the auto industry to produce more efficient and family-oriented vehicles.

Should Online Education Replace Classroom Education
Nothing has affected our life as swiftly and significantly as the Internet, especially in the field of education. And many of buzzwords such as "Distance Education", " Cyber Classroom" and "Online Study" are more and more frequently heard of. With the increasing popularity of online education, some individuals claim that online education will take the place of traditional way of classroom edcuation soon. However, given more rational consideration and careful observation, it has to be admitted that the possibility of the dominance of online education in all aspects is quite slim.
Firstly, in the process of online education, the degree of interactivity between teachers and students is bound to decline. On the one hand, students will tend to be impassive receivers, as they can not raise questions whenever they want to, and they are not able to share their opinions with other classmates, since they barely meet each other. Moreover, most students may fail to control the minds if the lecture in the computer is abstract and abstruse. On the other hand, teachers can't gain sufficient and elaborate feedback from students. Thus, in most cases, they will be engulfed in a swamp of doubts whether their teaching program and pace are appropriate for each individual student. As is known, teaching and learning are closely related and should be compatible with each other lest the untoward consequences turn up.
Besides, online education given in the cyber space, to a certain extent, is fictitious and intangible, and can't be applied to certain courses. The music class is just the case in this regard. I have been teaching Guzheng---a kind of ancient Chinese musical instrument in a training school. At the initial stage, I have to, face-to-face, teach the students the right gesture of hands, which is the most important step to form a good habit of performance. More often I am obligated to correct their mistakes, especially their hand gestures, and implant a sense of melody to their minds time after time. In this sense, the teachers on the screen might not play the same role as I have, as they are blind to the unique positions and movements of students' hands, or even the potential talent of each student.
Lastly, the substitution of classroom teaching with web-based education will indisputably cause a crisis of unemployment for teachers. It's well acknowledged that technological innovation is a double-blade sword. It brings convenience to more people in their pursuit of education to their own wills while it also demands less quantity of teachers or professors in the case of online teaching. Normally, one teacher can only teach forty or fifty students in a classroom, while now one can teach the whole world as long as he/she has a computer connected to the Internet.
To sum up, cyber education is an unfavorable option with concerns over the apathetic interactivity between teachers and students, as well as the unbearable results of deteriorating unemployment for teachers. In addition, not all the courses can be taught through the Internet. On the contrary , it can be said that classroom teaching is not only pleasant, but also fruitful and efficient. With its eminent advantages, by no means will classroom teaching die out no matter how the world changes.
